It was a beautiful event started with bubblies at the foyer of the residence of Consul General of Republic of Turkey. As the ladies arrived they also received little angels as they were sipping their Prosecco’s. We had 50 lovely ladies attended the event as we had the limited seating that was sold out fairly quickly.
After the opening remarks followed by Honorable Gülru Gezer’s welcome speech with an emotional story about patience of parents for their children, our distinguished speaker Prof. Dr. Tülin Mangır gave an inspiring speech on “Mothering”. We thank Tülin for her lovely speech on her family’s three generations of mottos and inspiring us with how she interpreted them in her life. Thank you Tülin for your ever continued support to Turkish community!
TALL also honored our lovely Engin Kadaster for her one of many ingenious ideas in raising money for charity. At home gatherings, she has been suggesting that guests pay $10 each in lieu of a hostess gift. With her personal inspirational work, in a short while Engin handed TALL with a total of $700. Thank you Engin for your wonderful ideas and ever continued support.
As the guests were enjoying homemade Turkish tea delicacies, the lovely Fashion Show were presented by Deniz Şenkan, the owner of Private Cartel. She came with her lovely partner who also makes handmade jewelry. Following the fashion show, guests enjoyed a shopping spree of lovely clothing and jewelry. Thank you Deniz for making the afternoon so beautiful! I also would like to thank Devran Kovacoğlu for providing us with the music CD’s for the event.
We owe a big thanks to our lovely and amazing Honorable Consul General Gülru Gezer and her ever courteous and talented staff for hosting this event. I also thank our hard working TALL Board members starting with my Co-President Jasmin Döker, Asuman Yılmaz, Güner Ayter, Arzu Şimşek, Naime Berkoz, Aydan Atrek for their efforts in making the event successful. Also although they are currently not members of the board of directors, but are always in support of all our activities, Arzu Koçyiğit and Zinnur Fenmen in preparations and baking lovely goodies for our guests. Jasmin, thank you for providing the Prosecco’s! Last but not least our board member Ruhsar Boduryan will deliver the equipment needs of Kamış İlköğretim Okulu in Şabanözü, Çankırı in Türkiye.
