Annual Valentine’s Day Fund Raiser event organized by Turkish American Ladies League (TALL) brought the Turkish American community of Southern California together again, on Saturday February 11, 2017.
Honorable Consul General Gülru Gezer graciously opened her residence to over 50 guests and sponsored dinner for this fun and memorable event. Her staff did an excellent job and their service is very much appreciated.
The music was led by Dr. Demetra George Mustafoğlu and accompanied by Burak Besir (at Flute and Guitar and various other instruments) and Wayne Behlendorf (at Piano). It was a true feast! Dr. Mustafoğlu’s nostalgic music was very relevant to the theme of Day of Love and was very entertaining. The real musical surprise of the evening was “Mermaid” Lal! She is a very talented and upcoming young singer and performer; a star is born!
As usual, we took the opportunity to recognize some of our continued supporters: Honorable Gülru Gezer for all her support of Southern California Turkish American community; cofounders of TALL Dr. Demetra George Mustafoğlu and İlgin Baran; and Can & Canan Gürbağ for their generous donation. Ercan Döker, as a representative of Turquoise Life, was recognized as an event sponsor for the wine donation. As the members of TALL Board of Directors, we are very grateful to all our sponsors, members and guests who support us unconditionally.
The funds collected for the evening will be allocated to multiple charities TALL consistently supports.
